The minister of Defence of the Republic of Zambia, Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba, arrived on Wednesday afternoon in Angola to participate at a bilateral meeting between the two countries, taking place from 18 to 19 April in Luanda, for the analysis of the current state of military cooperation in various sectors.
Upon his arrival, the visiting official was received at the International Airport February 4 welcome greetings from the State secretary for Defence, Admiral Gaspar Rufino, the neighboring country’s ambassador to Zambia, Barbara Chilangwa, Angola’s ambassador to that country, Balbina Dias Silva and senior officers of the Angolan army.
However, according to the program of the visit that ANGOP had got access to, during the talks, which start on Thursday, the delegations of the two countries will be headed by the respective ministers of Defence, Cândido Pereira Van-Dunem, Angola, and Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba, Zambia, who will meet in private before.
For today, the visiting delegation is due to visit the memorial in homage to the first President of Angola, António Agostinho Neto, where the Zambian minister will place a wreath on his tomb.
