GBM pleads not guilty as court grants him bail

UPND vice president for administration Geoffrey Mwamba has pleaded not guilty to one count of proposing violence relating to a statement he made that he will go for outgoing President Edgar Lungu’s throat.
Mr. Mwamba who was made to spend the entire weekend in Police custody has since been released on a K10, 000 cash bail with two working sureties.
The UPND vice president for administration took plea before Lusaka Principle Magistrate Jennifer Bwalya this morning.
Commencement of trial in the matter has been set for 11th April 2016.
Mr Mwamba was arrested after confused former Catholic Priest Frank Bwalya lodged a fake complaint on behalf of outgoing President Lungu that he (Mwamba) threatened violence against the President.
