GBM says he is a heavy weight, while Kambwili calls Kabimba’s tribal talk nonsense

The ruling PF party, that kept pointing fingers at other parties as being tribal, is now haunted with serious tribalism within its rank and file as can be seen from today’s reactions and counter reactions after the Fred Mmembe group sponsoring Kabimba hit back through today’s headline story in the Post newspaper.

Patriotic Front national youth Chairman Chishimba Kambwili, who is a very old adult to be referred as youth, has dismissed as nonsense insinuations by Patriotic Front Secretary General Wynter Kabimba that there are tribal factions in the PF.

And Defence Minister Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba (GBM) who is at the centre of the whole tribal controversy today said he is a heavy weight that people fear even by the sight of his shadows.

Mr Kambwili has also described as unfortunate PF Secretary General Wynter Kabimba’s statement that PF cadres are the most indisciplined cadres in Zambia’s political history.

Mr Kambwili says Mr Kabimba should not insinuate that there are people championing a tribal agenda in the party because the PF is not tribal.

He has asked Mr Kabimba to withdraw his tribal remarks.

Mr Kambwili has also reminded Mr Kabimba that what is happening to him is a lesson for failing to stop the cadres who rose against Kabwata Member of Parliament Given Lubinda.

Mr Kambwili says Mr Kabimba defended the cadres who rose against Mr Lubinda, wondering why it should be a tribal agenda now that the same cadres are calling for his resignation and it was not tribalism when the same cadres called for the removal of Mr Lubinda.

He has since advised senior PF leaders to stop being arrogant and using cadres to rise against fellow party leaders as this would haunt them.

Mr. Kambwili adds that he has information that some PF cadres Featured on Radio Ichengelo Last week endorsing Mr Kabimba as PF presidential candidate for 2016 compounding the situation further.

He says presidents are not made but God given and that anyone who wants to become president should seek God’s guidance.

Mr.Kambwili further stated that it is not right for Mr.Kabimba to insinuate that some senior members of the party are behind calls for his removal as party secretary general.

Mr Kabimba has come under pressure from PF cadres who want him to step down as party Secretary General.
