GBM wants his rival younger brother jailed, disqualified

Kasama PF Member of Parliament Geoffrey Mwamba wants his younger brother Chilekwa Munkonge to be jailed and disqualified from standing in Kasama central.

Mwamba says his young brother is a criminal who shot one Brandina Kamuzhyu saying the matter is still in court. The incidence happened 11 years ago.

Munkonge who is MMD Lusaka central chairperson has been adopted by the ruling party to stand in Kasama.

But this has annoyed his elder brother and incumbent MP on the opposition ticket Mwamba who has not stopped complaining from the time he learnt that his rival is his younger brother.

He has accused Chilekwa of dividing the family and vowed never to trust him again.

But Chilekwa is not backing down and has declared that he will win.

Geoffrey Mwamba now says his party will petition the Electoral Commission of Zambia so that it can disqualify Munkonge on account of the ‘criminal record’.

He said President Rupoah Banda should explain whether Munkonge has been acquitted of the crime.

Mwamba said he has been supporting Monkonge in the court case and now wonders how the ‘criminal’ has been adopted by the ruling party to stand as MP.

But Munknge said Mwamba and his party the PF are free to petition the ECZ but he is focusing on the campaigns.
