Ghana’s black stars arrive

Ghana’s Black Stars have arrived in Ndola with coach Kwesi Appiah declaring that they were in Zambia to try and beat the Chipolopolo.

African champion’s trainer Herve Renard has already labelled Ghana as the strongest team in Africa but said that his Chipolopolo are in excellent shape to pick up all three points when Zambia plays Ghana in a Group D match of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

The 47 member Ghana team landed on a South African Airlink flight from Johannesburg at midday.

FAZ officials were on hand to welcome them and lead them to Moba Hotel. Ghana will train at Arthur Davies Stadium this afternoon and have an hour to feel the Levy turf tomorrow at 1500hours.

Chipolopolo and the Black Stars clash in a top of the bill fixture on Saturday at the newly constructed Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

The two last met at the semi final stage of the last Africa Cup of Nations finals. Zambia triumphed 1-0 courtesy of an Emmanuel Mayuka strike.

The Chipolopolo lost their world cup qualifier opener in the heat of Khartoum 0-2 to a strong Sudan. Ghana on the other hand beat Lesotho 7-0 in Kumasi.
