Zambians have been asked to Give President Rupiah Banda a chance to prove himself and show what development plans he has in store for the country.
His wife, Thandiwe says her husband has only been in office for a year and must be given more time to consolidate his efforts. Mrs. Banda has equally condemned critiques of her husband saying it is too early to judge his performance barely one year after being ushered into office. The first lady however emphasized that she will at all times keep out of politics especially
on matters concerning her husband as she is not a politician. She further says as first lady she will not form any non governmental organization to champion the welfare of the vulnerable, but will instead work to supplement efforts of those already existing. Mrs. Banda has since pledged to champion issues of maternal health, climate change and child trafficking during her mandate
The first lady was speaking in an interview with MUVI TV news from Addis Ababa in Ethiopia.
