Given Lubinda says people attacked have no evidence to link PF as more victimised

Reprisal attacks on staunch MMD supporters carried out by suspected PF jubilant cadres in Lusaka have continued to emerge.

MMD Kanyama constituency Mobilizing Chairperson, Goliati Ngosa’s house was broken in to by the PF slogan chanting youths who stole One Million Kwacha and a home theater.

Mr Ngosa’s wife Mary confirmed the incident to MUVI TV News today saying the attackers were also demanding for her husband’s blood.

Similar attacks on MMD supporters have been reported in Kaunda Square and at Inter-city bus terminus.

Meanwhile, some looted properties belonging to embattled MMD Lusaka Province Chairperson, William Banda has been recovered.

Mr. Banda’s daughter, Patricia says the property was recovered within theneighborhood in Bauleni compound.

Thugs purporting to be Patriotic Front (PF) cadres yesterday looted household goods and burnt two vehicles worth Millions of Kwacha belonging to the MMD strongman during President Sata’s victory celebrations.

The acts are seen as reprisal attacks.

But, when contacted for a comment via telephone, PF Chairperson for Local Government and Housing, Given Lubinda questioned what evidence the complainants have that it is PF supporters attacking them.

He wondered how people who have won could resort to violence.

Mr. Lubinda explains that even in a Football match it is the loosing team that beats up the referee adding that the winning team is satisfied and will have no reason to beat the match official.

He says government has heard that MMD cadres are victimizing marketeers after realizing that they have lost their source of income.

Mr. Lubinda has however appealed to all stakeholders to resist the temptation to engage in any acts of violence.

He says people must reflect on the huge turn out of people that gathered at the Supreme Court yesterday to witness the inauguration of President, Michael Sata.
