Government panics over Mulungushi Textiles bribe, as Kabwe youths plan protest

Government has been sent into panic after the Watchdog expose of President Edgar Lungu bribe of $15,000 which he got from Gulam Dewji, the chairman Mohammed Enterprises Textiles Limited, the Tanzanian company that has taken over Mulungushi Textiles in Kabwe.

Following the expose, Vice President Inonge Wina directed Central province Minister Davis Chisopa to try and find out the source of the leaks. Chisopa arrived at the factory around on Wednesday at about 15:00hrs in his official vehicle Mitsubish Pajero GRZ 269 CJ and demanded to meet Aurora Singh, the representative of the Tanzanian firm.

Meanwhile a group of Kabwe youths have planned to stage a peaceful protest to demand answers on the reopening of the factory following Vice President Wina’s statement in parliament that it shall not open as the plant has been vandalised.
