The second quadrennial conference of the vibrant Judicial and Allied Workers Union of Zambia (JAWUZ) was abruptly stopped by police after PF government’s attempt to sponsor some moles to usurp power from the current leadership failed.
Government had sponsored
some moles to challenge current President Peter Mwale led executive but the delegates yesterday resolved that he goes unopposed.
As the delegates were drawing up resolutions and getting ready to elect some office bearers, police stormed Zambezi source lodge and threatened to arrest the leadership with arrests if they proceed with the gathering.
The delegates who have come from all over the country and have converged since Friday were also ordered to vacate the premises but after being threatened to be stoned, police flexed their muscle and allowed the delegates to stay until tomorrow.
