Govt cashless fails to buy Zesco units

The Copperbelt Provincial Administration has not been funded for two months apart from salaries the Zambian Watchdog has been told. The development has led to some government departments including the Copperbelt Provincial Ministry of Lands office to go black out because the provincial administration can not buy electricity units. A source has disclosed that people who go to seek services from Ministry of Lands are now requested to contribute money towards the purchase of electricity units before they can be served. ” It is very shameful. Imagine citizens are asked to contribute money to but units. because how do the computers run without power. People are told to contribute then once the money is enough we go to ZESCO to buy units. The province has not been funded for two months now apart from salaries. Is this the change we wanted? the source asked.
