Govt diverts money for 16,000 E-Voucher packs

Former Agriculture Minister Dora Siliya

More than 16,000 Farmer Input Support Program –FISP E-Vouchers have not been redeemed and it is feared that the money has been stolen by PF government leaders and their agents at Bank UBA and Ministry of Agriculture.
Government recently announced the release of money to clear all unpaid e-voucher backlogs but Kabwe in Central province still has a backlog from 2015 to 2018 comprising over 16,000 farmers not paid and this money is feared to have been diverted by corrupt elements.
Bank UBA insiders have told the Zambian Watchdog that the problem was with the government officials who were using the bank as a conduit to steal the money with their Nigerian counterparts.
Three weeks ago, government announced the release of money to clear the farmers but it was diverted to other districts where fake agro dealers exist. PF government ministers and officials have set up these fake agro dealer shops. Among the senior officials mentioned are Dora Siliya who was transferred from Ministry of Agriculture to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and Grey Mwale, the FISP National Coordinator and his assistant a Mr. Mulenga.
