Govt made simple: Chiwala back at RDA

Barely 48 hours after we explained  why Bernard Chiwala was fired as Permanent Secretary at the ministry of works, President Michael Sata has re-appointed him as Roads Development Agency director.

The fate of Charles Mushota the current RDA director is  not known.  Mushota is related to Justice minister Wynter Kabimba by marriage.

Chiwala was fired last week and replaced by former Bank of Zambia Deputy Governor Bwalya N’gandu. But Ngandu was transferred to Sata’s village even before he could report for work.

A source explained that Director of Public Prosecutions Mutembo Nchito took Chiwala to State House where Sata gave him a letter of appointment as RDA director.

When Mushota reported for work Thursday  morning, he found Bernard Chiwala in his office. It is not known whether this means Nchito has started back stabbing Kabimba for him to influence the replacement of Mushota with Chiwala.

The Zambian Watchdog reported that Chiwala was fired because he differed with Sata and his son Mulenga on how payments to road contractors under the National Roads Funds Agency were being handled. In embarrassment President Sata has re-appointed Chiwala.
