Govt runs out of ARVs, again

Hospital and government chemists have run out of AZT, one of the drugs for ARVs.

AZT commonly known as Zidovudine is an oral and injectable medication that is used for the treatment of infections with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

According to government sources, most outlets in Lusaka ran out of the drug last week.

‘The next consignment is expected in about 4-6 months. Ministry of health and ministry of Mother and Child different are in frantic panic,’ said sources in government.
