Government says soldiers seen in Mongu could be from Angola

Government says the soldiers been seeing in Mongu could be from Angola.

The Watchdog reported this morning that the PF government is sending troops to Mongu in Western province ahead of the Barotse National Council.

But defence deputy minister Colonel Panji Kaunda refuted the revelation saying there are no troops being deployed to Mongu.
In an interview with Lusaka based QFM radio, Panji Kaunda said it is most likely that the soldiers being mistaken for Zambian soldiers are the ones from neighbouring Angola.

Panji Kaunda said there is nothing to worry about in Western Province as the situation is very normal.

He did not explain what the Angolan soldiers are doing in Mongu. Mongu is in Zambia and not Angola and Angola has no barracks in Zambia.
