Govt threatens to revoke passports for protesting truck drivers

The PF regime has threatened truck drivers who parked their vehicles to stage a sit in protest that they will face the consequences of their action.

Ministry of Labour Permanent Secretary, Chanda Kaziya says government is further disturbed that the drivers also abused their colleagues who decided not to take part in the protest.

He says government may among others measures withdraw the drivers’ licenses and passports.

This comes after truck drivers staged protests at some entry points among them Chanida, Mukambo, Luangwa and at 10 miles in Lusaka demanding for the implementation of the sector minimum.
