Grade 12 clause knocks out 10 out of 11 PF Mkushi councilors

Ten out the eleven PF councillors in the Mkushi district council will not recontest this year’s elections because they do not have the grade twelve education qualification as stipulated in the amended constitution.

The development has sent the party into panic mode as they are now trying to entice teachers to contest but again they are stuck because civil servants need to resign before engaging in partisan politic and no teacher would want to risk his job to contest on PF ticket, a party whose chances of winning are deem.

A source disclosed that only Topson Kunda, the current Chalata ward councilor who has since applied to contest as council chairman has the grade twelve certificate.

This will affect even the parliamentary elections because even Mkushi South MP Davies Chisopa doesn’t have a grade twelve certificate.
