Henry Banda back in Zambia, issued with new passport

img_1460Rupiah Banda’s fugitive son, Henry, who has been on the run for almost 5 years yesterday returned to Zambia.

Henry, was received at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (KKIA) at 8:45  by his father, the ex-president Banda.

Henry’s passport was suspended by the late Michael Chilufya Sata’s administration after he jumped the border following a corruption and grand embezzlement probe.

However, Edgar Lungu recently authorized that a new Zambian passport be issued to Henry to facilitate his return back home.

As such, Henry yesterday returned carrying a new Zambian passport bearing the names Henry Chikomeni Banda.

President Lungu has also instructed that all corruption charges against Henry be dropped, a move that has riled the system particularly that the evidence against Henry is overwhelming.

More details to follow….
