Henry Banda removed from Interpol red notice

Former president Rupiah Banda’ son, Henry, has been removed from the International Police (Interpol) website as a wanted person.

Interpol website is managed by its headquarters in France and a notice on Henry Chikomeni Banda was placed in the first week of April, 2012.

According to the notice which was on the Interpol website, Henry was born on August 19, 1967 in Washington DC in the United States.

It said Henry was wanted for suspected fraud.

But the notice has since been withdrawn.   A check on the same website it was reveals that there are only three people wanted by Zambia now.

The Notice on Henry Banda was here

The three remaining wanted persons, Tony Mulenga, Simahwa Libanga and Moses Siame were placed on the Red Notice long before Henry Banda was put there.

Red Notices are supposed to remain place until the wanted person has been arrested or he is no longer wanted.

Henry Banda’s International lawyers indicated in April that they will fight to remove his Red Notice but they are yet to comfirm if they have managed to remove the Red Notice.
