United Party for National Development (UPND) president Hakainde Hichilema has advised the media in Zambia to desist from hate jorunalism.
Hichilema says the media must strive to be professional as this will help promote unity in the country.
He said the media should be ethical and balanced in the way they report news especially related to politics.
Hichilema was speaking in Lusaka Saturday evenning ahead of his party’ s launch of presidential campaigns on Sunday April 3.
Hichilema wondered why some Zambian media houses enjoy punishing certain individuals whose political ideals the media houses do not agree with.
Without mentioning anyone, Hichilema said some media houses have given exclusive rights to certain politicians to be speak through their media.
But he expressed surprisse that the media houses that pracitice hate journalism also want other media houses in the counrty not to report on their victims.
