UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema has been arrested and charged with publishing false information over remarks he allegedly made concerning PF wanting to train militias in Sudan.
Police earliar tried to charge Hichilema with treason but after his lawyers laughed at them dropped the charge.
Mr. Hichilema was arrested this morning when he appeared at Police headqauters for questioning.
The UPND leader was by lunchtime appearing in court on the judge that normally applies to the media.
The media houses that carried the story have not been charged.
Early this year, PF Secretary disclosed that his party has signed a memorandum of understanding with Sudan’s Albashir government to train PF youths in that country.
The Sudanese training involves mandatory military training.
