HH arrives in Chipata, rubbishes PF claims

United Party for National Development (UPND) president Hakainde Hichilema has dismissed assertions by the opposition Patriotic Front (PF) party that his party was working in a collision with the ruling MMD.
Speaking on arrival at Chipata airport yesterday on the start of his campaign tour of the eastern province, Mr Hichilema said the assertions by the PF were mere propaganda meant to divert public attention from their failure to campaign.
Mr Hichilema wondered how the PF could come up with such wild claims when he was standing as one of the presidential candidates in the forth coming elections.
The UPND leader told jubilant supporters who included some of the aspiring candidates that his party was determined to retire the ruling MMD after the 20th September, 2011.

He charged that the ruling MMD has failed to reduce poverty and create employment for the youth hence should be retired from government.
And addressing scores of people who had gathered at Kwamunga and Nandalisika grounds, the upnd leaders reiterated his party’s commitment to provide free education from grade one to college.
He told the excited crowds who had been waiting for him since 09:00hrs that once voted into office, his government would ensure that it provides quality free education as this was the basis for national development.
Mr Hichilema said just as there was time to be born in life; there was also time to retire.
He wondered what new things the leaders who have been in government for the past 47years would do now which they could not do in the last 47 years.
Mr Hichilema said only his party under his leadership would be able to provide people with clean water, good roads and employment opportunities for the youths.
He said those in business would be assisted so that they could grow their business,
He said as a business person, he knew how to create employment which the president government has failed to do.
Mr Hichilema has further urged the people to unit regardless of their tribe as they vote in this year’s elections.
He urged them to vote for UPND councillors, Members of Parliament and himself as president for the country to attain meaningful development.
