HH calls for removal of MMD cadres from Mufumbwe

United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema has demanded for the removal of MMD cadres from polling centre in Mufumbwe constituency ahead of the by-elections on April 29.
Hichilema said that despite the agreement between political parties and Zambia Police (ZP) Inspector General Francis Kabonde to remove the cadres from the area, the ruling party has not done so.
He noted that MMD should not assume they are above the law by failing to follow rules.
Meanwhile, ZP Spokesperson, Moses Siwali said ZP has no mandate to remove cadre from Mufumbwe unless it is asked to do so by the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ).
Speaking in Lusaka ECZ Public Relations Officer, Chris Akufuna said he could not comment on the presence of cadres in Mufumbwe until he gets information from the constituency.
Akufuna advised all those aggrieved to refer queries to ECZ Officials in the Constituency.
