United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema has assured the people of Luapula province better education and health delivery services once his party is elected into office after the September 20 polls.
Addressing hundreds of Mansa residents at Muchinga grounds Monday, Hichilema said his government will prioritised delivery of quality education and health services saying this was cardinal for the attainment of social and economic development.
Hichilema said the UPND government will not only provide free education from grade one to college level but will also ensure that education infrastructure is improved to create a conducive environment for both teachers and pupils.
He explained that his government will ensure it takes good care of teachers by increasing their salaries to a minimum of K5m as they were at the centre of education delivery.
On healt, Hichilema said his government will upgrade health facilities in the province to enhance quality delivery of health services.
He said the UPND government will also extend the operating hours of clinics to 24:00hrs because no one chooses what time to fall sick.
In the afternoon, Hichilema flew to livingtone where he addressed a rally at Villa grounds.
After the rally at Villa grounds, UPND supporters went to town and made noise for close to an hour shouting real change.
