HH case adjourned again, magistrate says he is sick

The case in which detained UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema is accused of treason has been adjourned to Wednesday because the magistrate handling the case said he was too sick to go to court.

Magistrate David Simusamba who is believed to be a full time cadre of the ruling party was supposed to rule whether HH should be committed to the High Court for trial.

Simusamba has been failing to make a ruling for more than three weeks but only went to court to adjourn and state that the accused should remain in jail.

The case has been transferred to another magistrate Malipenga.

Magistrate Malipenga has since adjourned the matter to Wednesday, 24th May 2017 while the opposition leader and his co-accused remain in detention.
