HH has become a PF cadre, says Kunda

Republican Vice President, George Kunda, has expressed  disappointment at United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema for joining Patriotic Front (PF) leader Michael Sata to form a pact.

And Vice President George Kunda says Zambia’s 2009 economic performance was largely evidenced by the number of pieces of infrastructure which were built and rehabilitated during the year.

Speaking when he addressed a public rally in Kazungula, Mr Kunda said he had lost trust in Mr Hichilema, who is an economist, because he has joined a tricky man Sata, who is not trusted by anybody.

Mr Kunda wondered what caused Mr Hichilema to trust Mr Sata, saying he is riding on him (HH) to see himself in state house.

He said people across the country need to be sensitized about the evil of the pact, adding that people are yet to see what the pact is made of.

The Vice President stressed that it is sad that Mr Hichilema has become a PF cadre.

Mr Kunda said the pact was going nowhere because both the PF and UPND constitutions are two different things because PF does not support Chinese investment while UPND does.

He said it is unfortunate that Mr Sata is always talking sophisticated things in a named daily tabloid to build up his image, adding that he is just being portrayed as a criminal.

The Vice President observed a revolution was imminent in Southern Province, saying people are leaving the party because of UPND’s poor leadership.

Mr Kunda added that Members of Parliament (MPs) in UPND are just waiting to get their gratuity and will resign from the party.

He disclosed that the MMD will soon be going for the national convention, adding that the National Executive Committee (NEC) will decide on the date of the convention.

Earlier, MMD Southern Province Chairman, Solomon Muzyamba, said the people of Katombora Constituency are UPND, adding that they rejected development because they have no representative in parliament.

Mr Muzyamba accused UPND Katombora Member of Parliament, Regina Musokotwane, of having failed to deliver development for her people in the district.

He was, however, quick to say that he had noted that people of Katombora constituency have registered change to move to the ruling MMD party.

Mr Muzyamba urged the people in the area to vote for progress so that they could see change and development in the district.

And MMD Kazungula district Chairman, Elvis Malumo, assured the Vice President that the people of Kazungula would vote for MMD in next year’s general elections.

And Vice President George Kunda says Zambia’s 2009 economic performance was largely evidenced by the number of pieces of infrastructure which were built and rehabilitated during the year.

Mr. Kunda said government built and rehabilitated a number of schools, hospitals and roads throughout the country while some projects were still ongoing.

He said because of such developments and other economic achievements, Zambia’s cooperating partners have continued to render support to government.
Mr. Kunda was speaking when he addressed hundreds of people at a public rally in Kazungula district in Livingstone yesterday.

Mr. Kunda also said the MMD government has continued to enjoy support from the people of Southern Province and has since appealed for more support in the 2011 general elections.

And speaking at the same rally, Livestock and Fisheries Development Minister Bradford Machila disclosed that K258 billion has been allocated for animal and fish disease control and for other operations in his ministry this year.
