There was excitement in Kasama as UPND president Hakainde Hichilema touched down at Kasama and proceeded into the central business of the town.
Business came to standstill in Kasama town Tuesday afternoon as scores of residents took to the streets to catch the glimpse of Hichilema’s motorcade.
Some residents were heard shouting ‘Ba Kateka bali mu mushi ala na ciwama’, kuno ba PF na bafwa’ (Our president is here in town and this is very an excitement moment and PF is dead)
Hichilema in the company of Lubanseshi independent MP Patrick Mucheleka and other party officials drove through town centre where people chanted the UPND slogan of ‘Zambia Forward’.
The UPND leader has proceeded to Mungwi town to pay homeage to Henry Sosala, the Paramount Chief Chitimukulu of Bemba speaking people.
The out-going PF government has defiantly refused to recognize Sosala as Chitimukulu but Hichilema has promised to gazzette him once elected as republican president.
Hichilema is a on countrywide campaign tour dubbed ‘Zambia United’ and is sharing his national vision for the country ahead of January, 20, 2015 presidential polls.
And Mucheleka has urged people of Northern Province to vote for Hichilema and shame those propagating tribalism in the country.
Speaking on a sponsored program on Radio Mano, Mucheleka said time has come for Zambians to vote for a vibrant leader like HH to unite the nation.
He said people must not be intimidated by anybody to vote otherwise.
Mucheleka advised electorates to do a ‘donchi Kubeba’ on politicians planning to bribe them into voting for a mediocre president.
