PF desperation spreading lies

THE SEVENTH Day Adventist (SDA) Zambia Union Conference President, Dr. Harrington S. Akombwa has said that the SDA Church is indeed praying for opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema, who is a Master Guide in the church, to make a full recovery.

Dr. Akombwa has told Zambia Awakens News in a statement that Mr. Hichilema and his family are part of the SDA fellowship and rightly approached the Church through Woodlands SDA Conference seeking for prayers for good health.

“Mental illness is nothing to be ashamed of. It is a medical condition and we are praying for our son”, states Akombwa.

According to information obtained by Zambia Awakens News, the Woodlands SDA Conference was informed that Mr. Hichilema was diagnosed with Manic Depression years ago and whilst he is finally receiving the much needed medical attention, Mrs. Hichilema requested the Church to intercede for her husband through prayers and fasting.

Manic depression is a mental health disorder characterised by persistently depressed moods, anger, loss of interest in activities and can cause significant impairment in daily life.

Mrs. Mutinta Hichilema first approached the Woodlands SDA Prayer Band about two weeks ago to plead with the church to fast and intercede for her husband who was experiencing his worst mental breakdown in years.

The UPND as a party are more worried about political campaigns and the image such a mental breakdown will create, however, Mrs Hichilema out of genuine concern for the terrible mental state her husband is in, went to seek out prayer warriors as spiritual foul play from potlucks opponents cannot be ruled out.

Zambia Awakens News is hereby calling on all Zambians regardless of their Political affiliation to remember Mr. Hichilema in their prayers because his family and the nation at large needs him to be in good health.
