UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema has charged that President Edgar Lungu does not deserve to be given a doctorate in good governance.
Mr Hichilema says this is because everything relating to good governance in the country has collapsed as evidenced from rampant corruption been perpetuated by individuals in high government positions.
In an interview with Phoenix News, the UPND leader further says if President Lungu respected good governance, all those involved and cited in the financial intelligence center report and auditor general’s reports would have been prosecuted.
This follows the conferring of honorary doctorates in good governance on president lungu and his Zimbabwe counterpart Emmerson Mnangagwa by the University of Zambia.
And Governance Expert, Reuben Lifuka who is also transparency international Zambia president feels the University of Zambia should have waited and considered honoring the head of state with a doctorate after assessing him for his work at the end of his tenure in office.
