The United Party National Development (UPND) has petitioned the Commonwealth over government’s inertial in dealing with ZNS officers that shot dead two Kampasa defenceless residents over the land dispute.
UPND president Hakainde Hichilema revealed the move saying the matter will not die a natural death but that it needed to be dealt with to the conclusive end.
Hichilema said the Kampasa issue has been presented to the Commonwealth for action and that they will wait for the outcome of the petition.
He said President Michael Sata, as commander in chief of the armed forces, commanded the ZNS officers to shoot at unarmed Kampasa residents in cold blood.
Hichilema said if President Sata hoped that the matter will phase out with time, he will be surprised because action will be taken on it.
