HH urges church to unite in speaking for oppressed

UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema has called for unity among religious leaders in order to stand for the oppressed.

Hichilema says the church must stand and speak out for the poor people in  zambia.

Hichilema said this shortly after he attended the Golden Jubilee of Monze Diocese in Monze on saturday.

The UPND leader noted that the government of the day must not intimidate and frustrate the church.

Hichilema added that the church has for long time been a partner in national development.

He further said the church has immensely helped in supplementing government efforts in the education and health sectors.

The opposition leader explained that the church must be free to speak the sufferings of its people.

He advised the PF government to consider the church as  a partner in national progress  not an enemy
