UPND President Hakainde Hichilema says the PF must be kicked out of power in 2016. Hichilema says the PF has failed to manage all sectors of the economy. He was speaking in Petauke where he urged the people of Petauke to vote for Allan Zulu, the UPND candidate as a process of beginning to kick out PF in 2016.
Speaking during a rally at the Agricultural show grounds, Hichilema bemoaned the escalating cost of living and unemployment levels in the country. He called on the voters to turn up in numbers and vote for Zulu in the 30th June by election which is also being contested by UNIP’s Ignacio Phiri and Dora Siliya. Siliya fraudulently won the seat on MMD ticket in 2011 but the court nullified her victory but she is recontesting on PF ticket.
The UPND received a thunderous welcome from voters in the central business district and the main market where he visited earlier in the morning. He also addressed a well attended rally to drum up support for his party candidate Allan Zulu at Mumbi Basic School after paying a courtesy call on chief Mumbi of the Nsenga people
And UPND William Banda dismissed PF’ tribal and nepotism allegations levelled against Hichilema. He said that Mr. Hichilema has some relatives who are married to Easterners and if he was practising nepotism he could have recommended his Easterner nephews or nieces to contest the seats in Eastern province.
