HH blasts government on dirty markets

United Party for National Development (UPND) President Hakainde Hichilema has castigated Government for its failure to improve the poor sanitation conditions in some market places in the country.
Speaking when he toured Buseko Market in Lusaka, Hichilema charged that because the ruling party has no compassion for the poor, people are trading under difficult and dirty conditions posing a great health hazard.
The UPND leader said Buseko market, like many aothers is in a bad state due to lack of proper sewerage system. He said effluent from the sewers was making the life of traders unbearable.
He challenged Government to create an enabling and healthy environment for marketers to do business, adding that it is only a nation with healthy people that be productive and develop.
