As part of labour law reforms. We will reform NAPSA to start paying mid term benefits so that contributors don’t have to wait till retirement to access their money.

Any nation’s pension fund policy influences voters’ election pattern. How can NAPSA subject the owners (pensioners) to such poverty. Many pensioners these days retire from renewable contract jobs with no lump sum teminal benefits, but just get little gratuity for the final short contract. Such senior citizens therefore only survive on the meagre NAPSA monthly pension. The minimum monthly should therefore be adjusted to something like K3000. Afterall, NAPSA still gets rentals from thousands of properties nationwide, in addition to the current workforce’s monthly contributions. They can surely afford this.
Indeed NAPSA is a scam. This year 2021, they have only increased the pensioners’ monthly payment by K10, when inflation has reached 24%. If what UPND is promising is implemented, what would happen to those senior citizens who are already on life monthly pension? The solution is to just adjust the minimum monthly amount to the level of the kowest salary in the civil service, so that we senior citizens can atleast afford to afford the basic nutrition.
NAPSA in its current form is a scam and a disgrace. How can accumulated contributions zmw150 000 over 25 years only amount to zmw300 000? When you factor in inflation and leachate depreciation you actually get less than what you contributed! Must be scrapped and a better scheme constituted!
Anybody who has worked before is entitled to pension benefits. In the UK it is called National Insurance Contribution which is similar to NAPSA. Every employee contributes National Insurance. Once you reach a pensionable age, you are entitled to a lump and a regular income or state pension for life.
This is how NAPSA should have or ought to have operated. Unfortunately, all the funds have been stolen and nil accountability.
For sure, as a contributing member to NAPSA I agree with President HH. NAPSA is using our contributions to invest, but does not want members to invest in physical assets like houses and farms. It’s not fair.
Napsa is still withholding workers contribution benefits even when most of the Zambian worker’s life span has been reduced to 35yrs. When will they invest there money into building there own house?
In all fair ness one has to build his own house when he she still energetic.
