STATEMENT BY HON. KENNEDY SAKENI, MP, MINISTER OF INFORMATION AND BROADCASTING SERVICES AND CHIEF GOVERNMENT SPOKESPERSON ON ACCUSATIONS AGAINST GOVERNMENT BY UPND LEDAER HAKAINDE HICHILEMA
United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema’s rantings against the Government on UNZA Radio this morning are yet another desperate attempt to repair his tattered image and that of his colleagues following their futile and embarrassing mission to South Africa to discredit the country on baseless grounds.
Mr Hichilema now realizes the folly of their actions to fight their country from foreign soil and and are now desperate to salvage their image by raising baseless allegations against the Government.
If Mr Hichilema could freely go to UNZA Radio this morning and spend about two hours talking against the Government, why did he and his colleagues had to go to South Africa to raise the same issues he did today on UNZA Radio.
The answer is simple: traitor.
Contrary to Mr Hichilema’s accusations, this country enjoys boundless freedoms as can be seen in Mr Hichilema’s freedom to feature on any media of his choice to express himself as he did today even when he is peddling nothing but falsehoods.
I wish to reiterate that this Government remains committed to the rule of law and good governance in improving peoples lives.
Hon. Kennedy Sakeni, MP,
Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services and Chief Government Spokesperson
