OPPOSITION UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema has written a letter to President Michael Sata in which he has accused the head of state of demeaning and insulting other people with impunity.
In the letter which has also been copied to United States of America Ambassador to Zambia Mark storella, Hichilema says his party considers it a matter of national concern that President Sata is undermining and trivialising the highest office in the land on various pertinent issues affecting the country.
Hichilema highlighted some of the issues that President Sata has done since taking over office such as the rebuking of the Litunga and other pronouncements he has made concerning the Barotseland Agreement of 1964. He said Sata has not fulfilled the promises he made to the people of Western province.
He also advised the head of state to embrace the spirit of respecting the freedom of others and debate on national issues without feeling insecure. Hichilema further called on advisors to the president to research and provide relevant advice to the president ahead of important engagements with local, regional and other international stakeholders.
