A vaginal fungi infection has broken out at one of Zambia’s highest learning institution, Evelyn Hone College.
This came to light on Monday when opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema toured the college to see the suffering students are subjected to.
Female students who mobbed Hichilema when he and his entourage entered one of the hostels to see the pathetic living conditions, attributed the development to poor sanitary conditions.
The affected students openly told Hichilema of the vaginal irritation and discomfort.
Other students also complained of the general deplorable environment in their college.
The students said the government does not care about their well being and that when they complain, the government calls them dull students.
In response Hichilema said he can not believe that students are learning under such horrible conditions. He wondered how 12 students can be packed in a room meant for three students.
He also told students that it was the education minister and not students who is dull.
Just last month, students at Hone rioted due to deplorable living conditions at their college.
