How about replacing NRCs

The editor,
Commendation for the great job you are doing, you are second to none.
Kindly publish our concerns especially that in a few weeks from now the country will be conducting a presidential by-election in which we the citizens shall exercise our right to vote. However, our findings in the rural areas indicate that a lot of voters may not vote because they have either lost their NRC’s or they are damaged or destroyed.
It is comforting to hear that ECZ will accord the citizens an opportunity to replace their lost or damaged voter’s cards using the current voters roll. Well intended as it may be but this exercise may not yield the much desired results if the Department of National Registration does not move on the ground to replace lost and damaged NRC’s.
It is in this view that we request the government to facilitate this programme if the rural population is to be part of those that are going to vote. We urge the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Home Affairs to source for funds from the ministry of finance to finance this very important exercise. Remember Zambia includes the rural populace and not the cities only.
Thank you
