Details are beginning to emerge on how Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) Chief Executive Officer, Zindaba Soko hired assassins to eliminate a former Director at the agency Pumi Fwankila, to conceal his corruption.
Sources hinted to the Zambian Watchdog that Soko personally hired people to poison Fwankila at a drinking spot to conceal his corruption.
Fwankila, the former Director for Road Safety died in 2016 in suspicious circumstances, after being dismissed from work by Soko.
“The Agency (RTSA) changed the system for licensing to bring in a new company for issuing the road licenses and other services. Mr. Fwankila was very close to this transaction and he knew everything in terms of how the Lebanese company was giving Soko bribes.
” Sensing a danger, Soko fired Fwankila and in the process he (Fwankila) wanted to spill the beans of how corrupt Soko was corrupt,” revealed the source.
According to our source, Soko organised people to poison Fwankila at at a named joint.
