An Opinion Poll funded by the New Generation Party has predicted victory for President Banda in the September 20 polls.
The poll was conducted by an independent consultancy firm LUCID, over a period of one month in all the districts.
The poll indicates that President Banda will amass 46 percent of youth votes which represents 68 percent of the young voters.
It also indicates that Patriotic Front leader Michael Sata will get 28 percent of the youth vote while Hakainde Hichilema will get 21 percent of votes from the young people.
The other presidential aspirants will share five percent of the youth vote.
The opinion poll has a margin of error of two to three percent plus or minus.
Speaking at a Press briefing in Lusaka on Sunday, New generation Party President Humphrey Siulapwa said President Banda will win the September 20 polls because the youths have confidence in his economic polices.
Mr Siulapwa also says the failure of the UPND-PF pact will contribute to President Banda’s chances of winning the elections.
The opinion poll also says the violence rhetoric propagated by the PF in the recent past will also affect Mr Sata’s performance.
Mr Siulapwa says Mr Sata’s perceived public support for homosexuality and gay rights will also contribute to his failure to win the 2011 elections.
Mr Siulapwa says UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema has little presence in all parts of the country except for Southern province.
