I am not sick, yes I was out of the country- Lungu

PF presidential candidate Edgar Lungu has denied being sick as alleged by some medical reports, but admitted he sneaked out of the country at the invitation of some ‘well-wishers’ including foreign heads of states he did not name.

Speaking on arrival at Mbala ZAF base for campaign meetings which he has been cancelling for almost one week now, Lungu told journalists that only evil people wish him dead.

Lungu left the country for Nigeria and Rwanda on Saturday, but without informing the acting president Guy Scott and returned last night.

But Lungu’s Press Aid Emmanuel Mwamba cheated that Lungu’s planes had developed technical fought yet his candidate was actually out of the country.

“Yes I was out of the country. I was invited by friends of the party. Heads of state and others. People that wish that we succeed. I was never in any hospital in South Africa or anywhere else. It looks like some people can only win if someone is sick or dies? I am here and let’s start the program,” he told journalists.

Mr. Lungu has just left Mbala for Kaputa and Nsama Districts and is expected back in Lusaka in the evening for the Economic Association of Zambia organised presidential television debate to be aired on ZNBC.
