I dont want to be president- Lungu tells PF cadres

I have no ambitions of becoming Zambian president, reveals Acting PF Secretary General, Acting Justice Minister, and Defence Minister Edgar Lungu during a media briefing this morning.

And the Zambian Voice has urged President Michael Sata to further restore order in the Patriotic Front (PF) government if he is to have it easy in the 2016 general elections.

Reacting to the Facebook page created by some well-known fellow PF cadres who are already campaigning for Lungu to succeed Sata soon, Lungu said his allegiance is to support ailing president Sata and does not harbor any presidential ambitions.

Lungu said he has no facebook page and does not intend creating one now or in the near future and has warned those behind the campaigns that there schemes will soon be exposed.

As the PF wrangles and succession battles continue even after departure of Wynter Kabimba, Lungu accused fellow PF members behind his presidential campaigns of maliciously spreading propaganda against him.

Meanwhile, the Zambian Voice has urged absentee landlord Michael Sata, to urgently stop the squabbles in the ruling party or they risk losing the 2016 elections.

Executive Director Chilufya Tayali says this is because it has now become clear that there is still instability in the PF government despite the dismissal of Wynter Kabimba as Justice Minister and PF Secretary General.

Mr. Tayali says now that President Sata has demonstrated to the nation that he is working, he should further prevail over the apparent squabbles and instability in the ruling party.

Speaking to Qfm news in an interview, Mr. Tayali has observed that the only way such squabbles will be put to an end in the PF government is when President Sata himself deals with the people causing such problems.

Mr Tayali says this means that the Head of State will have to do a shakeup of his Cabinet stating that there are so many people in the PF government letting President Sata down.
