President Edgar Lungu has told the people of Eastern province to stop complaining about “everything” because government can not provide manna.
In a subtle message delivered on his behalf during the Nc’wala ceremony in Chipata this morning, former Finance Minister Alexander Chikwanda said instead of always anticipating to receive Easterners should instead work hard.
“You have the right soils and the province is blessed with good soils please stop complaining about suffering because government can provide development like Manna.
” At one time this province was the biggest producer of cotton but I was sad to read that the production has reduced almost by half this year,” said Chikwanda.
In the recent past people in eastern province have been complaining about the late delivery of inputs.
Meanwhile, Paramount Chief Mpezeni yesterday complained about Ministers serving in government for failing to support the Ncwala ceremony.
The chief said despite several appeals the Ministers from Eastern province had refused to support the ceremony.
The tradition leader however acknowledged the support received cro. Health Minister Chitalu Chilufya.
The Master of ceremony repeatedly thanked the Minister of Health for his personal contribution to the organising of the ceremony.
The Ngoni speaking people commemorated the Ncwala ceremony under the theme; “preserving culture through gender equality.”
Zulu crown prince Butelezi was the guest of honour.
Home affairs Minister Stephen Kampyongo represented President Lungu. Chikwanda was a special envoy of President Lungu sent to deliver a special message
