I lost my NRC, says Tilyenji as he almost fails to vote

UNIP President Tilyenji Kaunda Thursday morning nearly failed to cast his vote because he did not have his National Registration card.
According to the PF controlled ZNBC, the UNIP Presidential Candidate failed to produce his NRC when he went to cast his vote at Chibelo Primary School polling station in Lusaka.
Mr. Kaunda tried to negotiate with the presiding officer Mathew Mwangelwa for him to be allowed to vote using his passport.
But Mr. Mwangelwa explained that the law is very clear and states that citizens will only be allowed to cast their votes upon producing their NRCs and a voter’s card.
Mr. Kaunda told the media that he does not know where his NRC is and it could have been misplaced during campaigns.
Mr. Kaunda is however reported to have managed to cast his vote later and urged voters to remain peaceful.
