United Party for National Development (UPND) vice president Richard Kapita has refuted media reports alleging that he has abandoned his party position in preference for his businesses.
Mr. Kapita said the story published by QFM radio is false and malicious.
The UPND vice president was reacting to a story published by the QFM alleging that Mr. Kapita has abandoned his party position in preference for his businesses.
QFM further alleged that Mr. Kapita wrote a letter to party president Hakainde Hichilema asking him to allow him to take an indefinite leave.
But Mr. Kapita told Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) that at no time did he author a letter requesting the UPND party president to allow him to take an indefinite leave.
He said the story published by the QFM is purely the work of the enemy planting seeds of discontent within the party
Mr. Kapita said the UPND is intact and that the party is busy organizing itself in readiness for the 2016 elections.
Mr. Kapita vowed that he would be the last person to leave the UPND party saying it is heading for a sure victory come 2016.
