Illegally, Lungu sworn in by High Court Registrar not Chief Justice

Chief Justice Ireen Mambilima and her deputy Mervin Mwanamwambwa this morning refused to swear in illegal President Edgar Lungu at Heroes Stadium.

Even the dove Lungu released to the skies refused to fly but dropped to the ground. Very bad omen.

This was another illegality and further constitutional crisis as the Constitution of Zambia provides as follows: Article 105 (1) The president-elect shall assume office after being sworn in by the Chief Justice or, in the absence of the Chief Justice, the Deputy Chief Justice.

But in this case both Ireen Mambilima and her deputy Mervin Mwanamwambwa were in attendance, meaning they were not sick or having any family commitments but refused to preside over the illegal event and Lungu was only sworn in by Registrar of the Courts Charles Kafunda.

As it stands Zambia’s presidency now sinks even into deeper crisis as there is no provision anywhere in Zambia or indeed in the world where the President can be sworn in by anyone.

Infact what has basically happened at the stadium is a coup de ta as it has no constitutional backing of any kind and amounts to treason even on the Registrar of the Courts himself.

Lungu has so far abrogated the Zambian Constitution since assuming office among them by allowing ministers remaining in office when Parliament was dissolved and by refusing to hand over the instruments of power when the petition was in motion as provided for in the Constitution.

Further the corrupt Constitutional Court judges did not declare anybody as either winner or lose after the illegal ruling on the hearing of the constitution.

Reports also indicate that most of the Western Diplomats shunned the event because it was illegal.

So far only two presidents came for the ceremony among them the Zimbabwean dictator Robert Mugabe and Botswana leader Ian Khama despite the entire PF media claiming they invited over 54 Heads of States and 4 confirmed yet only two attended.
