Acting President Guy Scott has allegedly ordered Immigration officials to detain and interrogate Edgar Lungu’s only surviving aunt.

Milia Lungu, the only surviving aunt of Edgar Lungu was yesterday picked up by immigration officials in Nyampande farming scheme in Petauke and was detained for several hours and interrogated by almost a dozen officers.
Lungu, the Minister of Defence, Minister of Justice and Secretary General of the ruling PF has confirmed the development.

When contacted for a comment Lungu said, “I am very surprised at this totally unnecessary and unacceptable action that has gravely traumatised my aunt whom in our Zambian or African tradition is really my mother.”

Lungu said, “If people want to fight me, let them keep the fight on me and not on an old innocent woman who does not know anything about naked political ambitions some people harbor. I have said before and I am saying now that I do not want to disrespect President Sata by engaging in divisive politics before we can even lay our beloved leader to rest…this is un African.”
Apparently, the interrogations are centered at attempting to establish whether Edgar Lungu’s parents were born in Malawi and therefore make it difficult for him to contest the presidency of Zambia.

Meanwhile, it has been alleged that Scott has ordered ZESCO to surrender three official ZESCO 4x4s to go and ‘investigate’ the alleged Malawian roots of Edgar Lungu.
A source at ZESCO has confirmed the development and said the board of the company was caught unaware with the instruction and had no clue on how to implement it since it was against laid down board procedures.
“The Chairman had no choice but to comply to the order from Dr Scott even though it is illegal,” said the source. The board declined to comment.
Ever since President Sata died on October 28, Mr. Lungu whom he left with the instruments of power has been a subject of intense media attacks that have included a short-lived dismissal.
He is concerned that his ‘enemies’ have now resorted to dirty tactics of intimidation, black-mail and making up stories about his alleged parentage in their naked ambition for presidency.
