Indo Zambia Bank Limited has pumped K 25 million into the commonwealth Queen Baton Relay.
Speaking during a press briefing in Lusaka today, Indo Zambia Bank Limited Managing Director Satish Shukla told journalists that the bank is pleased to be associated with commonwealth games which will be held on January 24, 2010.
Mr. Shukla noted that the bank decided to offer financial support to the Queens Baton Relay due to the importance and the unique nature of the event.
He explained that the bank will be offering assistance in form of printing of brochures and the provision of lunch for 200 students from various schools who will be participating in the relay.
Mr. Shukla added that the bank will also provide one support vehicle on the day of the relay and also displaying the relay route in details.
And Queen’s Baton Relay Committee Media Liaison Officer Haroon Ghumra thanked Indo-Zambia bank for coming on board to assist the Committee.
Mr. Ghumra noted that the financial support from Indo- Zambia Bank means that the budgetary requirements to successfully hold the event have been met fully.
He added that the relay route has already been finalised adding that it will start from the National Museum through to Munali Secondary School, arcades and finally end at the International school of Lusaka.
The Queen’s Baton travels through all the 71 commonwealth nations before the games.
