Intimidation & terror continue as police arrest 3 UPND officials in Mongu

Police in Mongu today around 03 hours in the morning picked up three United Party for National Development (UPND) Western Province party officials. The three are Provincial Secretary Sishwashwa Mbinji, Provincial vice Youth Chairman Mbangu Mbangu and Provincial Youth Coordinator Boniface Milambo.

The three who are currently at Mongu central police station are being interrogated and held over the alleged breaking of the house of Republican Vice President Inonge Wina in Nalolo a fortnight ago. They have since refused to give statements saying that they can only do so in the presence of their lawyer Nathanial Inambao of Inambao Chimpanzhya and Company.

Narrating the story, Mbangu said police officers picked him around 03hrs and later commanded him to take them to Milambo and Mbuinji‘s houses where the duo were also picked up. Mbangu wondered as to why police officers had resorted to picking them up in the early hours of the morning in riot gear when they could have easily summoned them by phone calls as they are law abiding citizens.
