Islamic Channel already broadcasting in Zambia on 102.1 FM

The Islamic religious Channel has begun FM radio broadcasts in Zambia on 102.1 in parts of Lusaka on selected times.

On Sunday, Independent Broadcast Authority (IBA) chairman Emmanuel Mwamba suspended the issuance of radio licence permits to applicants wishing to broadcast Islamic religious programmes in the country.

But tuning to 102.1 FM radio Channel in Lusaka reveals that the Islamic religious channel is already broadcasting at regular intervals mainly playing Islamic music.

It is not clear where the channel is broadcasting from and what the Zambian government will do since the Muslim community have already started broadcasting their religious programmes.
