Itezhi Tezhi by-election as Sata’s minister Monde loses court case

The Lusaka High court this afternoon threw out the petition by expelled Itezhi Tezhi UPND MP Greyford Monde to cling on to his seat in the UPND while facing several disciplinary charges in the party.

The UPND last month expelled president Michael Sata’s deputy minister for Agriculture from the party for indiscipline and failure to follow party guidelines.

But as with many traitors who want to eat with both hands, Monde rushed to court for protection against expulsion, but the High Court this afternoon ruled that the party followed the right procedure in expelling him.

The court ruling now means there will be a by-election in Itezhi Tezhi where Monde may wish to try his luck and test his popularity in the area where he claims he can easily win it under the PF.
